Fire

Embers orange glow, flickering in the darkness
Silently smouldering
Kindling
Ideas, beliefs, causes, people
Passion
Unseen, almost ignored
Waiting patiently for life
For care, a thought
A move into consciousness to create air
Fuel
Until its’ time

Orange embers glow, flickering in the darkness
Silently smouldering
Kindling
Ideas, loves, hates, dreams
Ignites
Shining brightly through thick black smoke
Stealing oxygen for life
For heat, a roar
Engulfing all that surrounds as it grows
Fire
Now it’s time

  1. I do love your poems, always so beautifully written with such emotion. Love the idea of kindling ideas. So sorry for taking so long to comment, been having a bit of a break from the blog so I’m a bit behind! Thank you so much for sharing with #ThePrompt x

  2. This poem conjures up so much imagery. Such a beautiful piece – and last line is so full of power. Love it! Thanks for linking to Prose for Thought and hope to see you tomorrow x
