Caught unexpectedly,
Ripped
From there
The safety of shore.
Swept up
In a sea
Of doing, seeing, feeling
Being.
The Horizon distorts
As waves crash,
Submerging each
Into the unknown.
Light merged with dark
Sky seen beneath,
Tossed and turned
Mixed in the swell.
Fighting for breath
For life,
We float
On the ripples
Pulled by the moon.
Surrendering
Embracing, indiscriminate motion,
With faith
Movement will one day guide
Us forward
Towards dry land
To calm.
There is a great sense of movement in your poem, great!
Love the idea of merging light with dark, like a binary opposition. Also particulary like the last 4 lines – the inevitable current moving us on. #ThePrompt
Such a strong sense of motion and moving forward in this, love it. I particularly liked the lines ‘The Horizon distorts / As waves crash, / Submerging each / Into the unknown.’ Really evocative. Thank you so much for sharing with #ThePrompt x
I love this. You always seem to manage to weave real life situations into your poetry and use them for your writing. This is beautifully done. #ThePrompt
Just popping back via Prose for Thought. Re-read and still just as beautiful as the first time. Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought xx
Beautiful. It really captured me and made me feel like it was me and I was there almost #theprompt
