Continues to turn

Moving us forward.

In time, everything changes

As it should,

With you still missing from moments.

The black hole surrounds me

It does not leave my side.

Rocks remain constant, safe

Landscapes surrounding, ever evolving

Distance expands between

Out of reach.

I try to ignore it

To look past it

It draws me in and I cannot look away.

All that is lost, reflected for me to see.

I stare into it,

The nothingness.

I’m trying to let it go

Expectation, disappointment, forgotten

Then we can forgive.

In the distance playing faintly

A sing song of how life used to be

Taunting my thoughts.

I can almost hear it

Silence.

Rushes to my ears

Drowning out all other sound

It is deafening.
