Embarrassing Moments

photo (36)

That’s me in the red head band, in a school play, ’cause you know shepherds all wore red elasticated headbands! Also you may be able to notice that my costume looks far too large for me, whilst the lad next to me is wearing a mini, not sure what went on there!

A little while ago I went on a hen do, we had to send an embarrassing story of ourselves so the bride to be could guess who it belonged to. Well I struggled. Mr C kept coming out with things I’d done that could have been embarrassing but I just found them amusing. Plus it is hard to be embarrassed about anything when I am usually at the butt of Mr Cs stories and jokes, don’t worry I find it very funny, I know I shouldn’t laugh when someone is taking the piss out of you but it’s always with love and I do get my own back quite often. If you can’t laugh at yourself who can you laugh at!

I saw this photo whilst mooching on facebook tonight and it reminded me of the story I told as I’d had to think far back, 20 years in the old memory bank. I can’t quite believe I’m going to tell the world my embarrassing story but here goes, looking back it makes me laugh although it’s not the most ladylike of subjects so apologies in advance!

At high school I was in a school production as a shepherd (pictured above). It was a whole school production, so lots of kids from different school years were involved. I was probably 11 or 12 so only year 8 at most. I was also in the percussion group, as I was a bit musical and at the time played the drums. Although on this occasion I was only in charge of this tapping cymbal thingy.

Anyway, on one of the rehearsals I had really bad wind and obviously didn’t want to pass wind in front of everybody, how embarrassing would that have been in front of all the older kids. They needed someone to go and get some instruments or something from the music room and I volunteered, seeing this as my opportunity to pip pop freely.

There was some pip popping done in the music room store cupboard as I was looking for the stuff I needed to get. I’ll be honest, the aroma was not that pleasant, I had probably been retaining the wind most of the day. Then to my horror, some other people came to help with the stuff! There was no getting away from it, it stunk! Comments were made and I quickly mumbled something about it already smelling when I got there. I imagine my bright red face that was shining like a beacon gave me away.

Isn’t it funny what the brain files away to remember and what it forgets. This is one of those memories I don’t think will ever leave me. I’m glad that I’m at the stage of life now where I can laugh things off easily and not be so embarrassed about things anymore!

I’ve linked up to What’s the Story?

Make sure you pop over to see what other stories people are sharing this week!

    1. Thank you! I really don’t think this memory will ever leave me and then I sometimes can’t remember what I walk in a room for 🙂
