Flowers and BLISS

I realise my last post was a major whinge fest, there’s not a lot I can do about that, it’s just really how the week went.

In between all the grumpiness of the week something lovely and unexpected happened.

It wasn’t quite right to tag it onto the bottom of my pregnancy update so I thought I would share it here.

I received some flowers.

There were absolutely beautiful. A really large bunch of beautiful flowers delivered to me at home.

From where I work.

They were completely unexpected, I was on annual leave over Easter with the munchkin, I had rang to bring my leaving date forward after finding out I’m going to be induced at 38 weeks and to give an update as to how I’d got on with the consultants.

The card simply read, ‘Positive Thoughts’

It really made me smile and added brightness to the grey grump I was in.

I’m trying to stay positive with everything that’s going on with the bump and what could happen. Even though I truly believe that baby will be ok, there is still the chance that my poor little boy will come early or be poorly when he arrives in the world. No one wants that for their baby.

I’m pretty open about what’s happening and can be a bit blase about the whole thing, trying not to worry people about it all because I what I really want most of all is just positive thoughts.

It was nice to know that people were thinking of us.

When I got back into work, I was going through my emails. I found out that whilst I had been off my colleagues had a dress down and hot cross bun day. We’re not a really big office, there is about 35 ish people who are based there full time. For dressing down they had done a collection. From the collection they had raised enough to send me my beautiful flowers but also enough to make a donation to BLISS.

When I read what they’d done I actually filled up, it’s a good job I read it early when people were still just arriving!

I thought it was a wonderful thing for them to do and was even nicer than the flowers I’d received.
